Metropolitan Family Services offers vital support group services for veterans and their families. The groups meet regularly at Metropolitan’s Southeast Chicago Center, 3062 East 91st Street, Chicago, and participation is free. Join us for:
Vet Voices
A peer-lead support group for all veterans and military service members
Held the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month
6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Topics such as deployment, combat and military life experiences, challenges with re-integration into civilian life, spousal or family relationships, and economic challenges are covered.
Women United
A peer-lead support group for female veterans and military service members
Held the second Wednesday of the month
6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Issues unique to females who served in the military will be discussed, such as trauma, separation from children, relationships.
Family Connect
Support for family members and friends of veterans and military service members
Held the first Wednesday of the month
6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
The group will focus on relational issues, separation from service members, change in financial stability, single parenting, and anxiety around absence or return.
