Why Metropolitan?

For more than 160 years, Metropolitan Family Services has empowered families and individuals through social services, legal aid and social policy advocacy.

Metropolitan has been a human services pioneer, helping to shape the social services field and national laws affecting families’ well-being, including the Social Security Act. We also were one of the first organizations in the country to support and provide legal representation for the poor through the Legal Aid Society.

Our staff includes a wide variety of professionals including licensed clinical social workers and counselors, case managers, behavioral health professionals, early childhood educators and lawyers – all of whom are committed to families.
