Metropolitan Family Services Offers Help for Those Affected by Foreclosure
Navigating the financial and legal waters of foreclosure can be challenging. For homeowners facing foreclosure or tenants grappling with eviction from a foreclosed building, the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services has help.
Mia K. Segal, Staff Attorney with the Legal Aid Society’s Focus on Foreclosure Project, will conduct an informational seminar to discuss rights and options in foreclosure, and the legal services that may be available. “Know Your Rights” will be presented on Monday, June 3, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Metropolitan Family Services Calumet Center, 235 E. 103rd St., Chicago.
“Resolving foreclosure or eviction issues can be a complicated process,” says Segal. “Often, someone going through this does not have access to the resources needed to sort it all out. Our goal is to stave off homelessness and help clients get their lives back on track.”

The event is cosponsored by Senior Homeowners Calumet and the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services; and is funded in part by the Chicago Department of Housing and Economic Development and the Illinois Attorney General.
