Financial Opportunity Center participants receive interviewing, personal branding support from Allstate volunteers
A group of our Calumet Center’s Financial Opportunity Center participants are now in a much stronger position to find and secure employment, thanks to support they received in a personalized Personal Brand and Interviewing workshop run by Allstate volunteers – including Metropolitan board member Christy Harris, Allstate’s VP of Talent Acquisition and Inclusive Diversity.
The workshop included volunteers working one on one with our clients offering personalized support on personal branding, resume writing, and interviewing for a job, including a mock interview, using a workforce development curriculum created by Allstate.
In conjunction with Chicago Cares and Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC), Metropolitan Calumet Executive Director Audrena Spence hosted a group of 21 Allstate executives from across the country, here in Chicago for a conference, spent their afternoon at the Financial Opportunity Center as part of Allstate’s commitment to embedding a service component into the conference.
Special thanks to Allstate and Christy Harris for providing this opportunity! Read our Board Member Spotlight on Christy here.
