Week of the Young Child: DuPage Center celebrates with STEM!
Last week, our DuPage early childhood programs participated with several local and national programs, including our Early Childhood Education partners in the city, in celebration of the Week of the Young Child!
This is a week, which is set aside every year to honor our youngest learners and draw attention to the promise they hold for our future! Some highlights of this week included guest readers, fabulous food experiences on Tasty Tuesday, and even guest musicians on Music Monday!
Perhaps the most exciting event of the week was our STEM Night, which was held on Tuesday, April 17th. This event was at two of our partner elementary schools, Jefferson Early Childhood Center in Wheaton and Army Trail School in Addison. During this evening event, early childhood staff set up various stations designed to encourage children to participate in activities which promoted various Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills. We even had participation from the local YWCA who set up a table with videos and games designed to elicit higher order executive functioning skills from our children and parents!
