Mpower the Night Gala Celebrates 161 years of Mpowering Children and Families

Windy City Live’s Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini to co-host; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois president to receive Legacy Award

CHICAGO (November 2, 2018) – Five hundred of Chicago’s business and philanthropic leaders will celebrate 161 years of “Mpowering” families at the “Mpower the Night” gala, taking place from 6 – 11 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, 221 N. Columbus Drive, Chicago. Windy City Live’s Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini will co-host.

Highlights of this year’s event will include the presentation of Metropolitan’s Second Annual Legacy Award to Maurice Smith, President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, for his outstanding philanthropic leadership in empowering Chicago-area families. In addition, Emerson Collective and Chicago CRED Managing Partner Arne Duncan will sit down with Windy City LIVE’s Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini, along with several leaders from the Metropolitan-convened Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P) initiative, to discuss violence prevention efforts across Chicago.

The gala also will include cocktails, dinner, a “Chicago Raffle,” as well as a Fund-the-Need Auction benefitting multiple Metropolitan programs and services. Event proceeds also will help support the agency’s services.
