Calumet distributes hot meals in partnership with Amazon for release of “Coming to America 2”
The release of Amazon’s Coming to America 2 went beyond a movie, to a community event!
Our Calumet Center, partnering with Amazon’s Black Employee Network and Monarch Awards Foundation, distributed 250 hot meals, generously donated by Amazon, in our Roseland community.
Executive Director Audrena Spence said, “The Calumet Community Center Board and staff proudly welcomed Amazon’s Jamel Franklin, head of the Black Employee Network, at the community pop-up event to celebrate an impactful Amazon partnership for the Roseland community.”
The socially distant drive-up and walk-up distribution featured meals from Phlavz Bar & Grille, including jerk chicken, jerk salmon, jerk chicken tips, and beyond burgers.
“It was once again another awesome community event which was well organized and coordinated by staff member Carlos Smith, with the support of Calumet staff and Mt. Olive Grand Lodge & Grand Chapter of O.E.S., along with Chicago CRED,” shared Jackie Morris, a Program Director at Metropolitan Calumet.
“This partnership event with the Amazon’s Black Employees Network and the Monarch Awards Foundation will be forever memorable.”
