WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD: MUSIC MONDAY

When children sing, dance, and listen to music, they develop their language and early literacy skills while being active and encouraging movement.

What does Music Monday look like across our Early Learning programs?

DuPage

Pajama Day! Our kids came dressed in their comfiest PJs for a day of creating hand-made musical instruments: paper towel rain sticks and plastic egg maracas, and our teachers got into the groove with plastic instruments.

Midway Learning & Wellness Center

A Bubble Dance Party in the morning and Zumba in the afternoon! Our kids, parents, and teachers sang songs and played instruments.

Midway Children’s Center

In preparation for the Week of the Young Child Parade, our kids made tambourines from paper plates! Parents created collages about their children and added them to our “hopes and dreams wishing wall”.

North Children’s Center

Musician/band shirt day! Our parents and teachers joined kids for a dance party, complete with handmade instruments.
