Midway Center Holds 5K Summer Dash
WHAT & WHO:
Metropolitan Family Services’ Midway Center invites the community to join the Center’s first annual 5K Summer Dash. Proceeds will benefit the Center’s summer school-related programs by “Mpowering” students to keep learning, have fun and stay safe during the summer. Participating schools include Tonti, Dawes, Hernandez, Pasteur and Stevenson, all located on Chicago’s Southwest Side.
Pre-registration cost is $25 per person and online registration is available on Facebook on the “Summer Dash 5K” event page. Participants also can register on race day for $30 (cash only); day-of registration will take place from 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
There will be two viewing stations along the course, and there will be an awards ceremony and a celebratory dance-off inside the Marquette Park Field House at 9:15 a.m. All 5K Summer Dash participants will receive a short-sleeve race t-shirt and goody bag.
