Metropolitan Family Services DuPage Gala Raises Record Funds for Behavioral and Mental Health Services
18th Annual Gala Honored Steve and Dina Gonzalez with Roger K. Johnson Leadership Award
The Gala, held Friday, May 10th at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, attracted 475 of DuPage County’s civic and social leaders who joined together to raise over $260,000 for mental health services. Steve and Dina Gonzalez were honored as the 2019 recipients of the Roger K. Johnson Leadership Award. This is the most prestigious award bestowed by Metropolitan Family Services DuPage, and honors outstanding commitment to the communities we serve.
The Gala featured John Garcia from ABC 7 Eyewitness News as the emcee. Additionally, live and silent auctions, wine raffle, trips raffle, and more entertained guests throughout the evening. Jim Perona provided the music, and magician Mike O’Donnell performed strolling magic for guests.
Proceeds from this year’s DuPage Gala benefited Metropolitan DuPage’s efforts to provide mental health services across the life span. As Metropolitan DuPage expands its mental and behavioral health offerings and community partnerships to address these issues, this year’s theme of Magical Moments brought attention and awareness to the accomplishments made possible by families and individuals who participate in our programs and services.
Metropolitan’s Board, staff and volunteers are grateful to the event Co-Chairs, Maryellen Klang and Carol White, the entire Gala Committee, sponsors and friends for the tremendous support provided to this year’s Gala!
