Metropolitan Family Services DuPage names new members to its Community Board
WHEATON, Ill. (March 8, 2022) – Metropolitan Family Services DuPage (MFSD) welcomes eight new members to its Community Board. All active supporters of the DuPage County communities Metropolitan serves, Brian Chmiel of Wheaton; Heather Eddy of Naperville; Stacie Gannon of Naperville; Chris Humbert of Roselle; Max Leichtman Oak Brook Terrace; Jason Nagel of Naperville; Mary FitzGerald Ozog of Glen Ellyn and Emily Shupe of Logan Square contribute experience in fields including consulting, business, advocacy, financial services, civic representation and law.
The DuPage Community Board supports all 33 DuPage County communities by raising funds and awareness for Metropolitan’s DuPage Center, which last year served 25,582 clients in its mission to empower children and families to learn, to earn, to heal and to thrive.
“Metropolitan Family Service supports the needs of the families in DuPage County in all of their aspects. Through connecting families to services when faced with the challenges of domestic violence, to supporting early childhood development for our youngest community members, to ensuring families have the behavioral health support they need, we empower families to thrive throughout DuPage County. We are thrilled to have the guidance and support of this strong and committed Board” said Pat Whiteside, new MFSD Board Chairman.

| Brian Chmiel is a partner in the Forensics Services practice at Crowe LLP where he has spent his entire CPA career. Starting in 1997 as an auditor, Brian has provided bankruptcy and restructuring, litigation support, investigation and dispute resolution services to clients.
Brian, who holds a degree in accountancy form the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana has been a resident of Wheaton with his wife Kristen and their two sons since 2011. Prior to joining the MFSD Community Board, Brian has held director positions with Working in the Schools, Boundless Readers and the Chicago Bar Foundation. Brian is proud to continue to advance the long-standing relationship between Crowe LLP and Metropolitan Family Services. |

| For over 22 years, Heather Eddy has worked with nonprofits and institutions to build capacity, and specifically, the past 13 years she has worked to strengthen executives, Boards, managers and leaders.
Heather, who cofounded KEES Executive Services, helps organizations find leadership, transition to new eras of leadership, ensure solid human resources/talent management practices, and promote cultures that help drive initiatives and the organization forward. As a frequent speaker, she increasingly contributes knowledge in the areas of strategic philanthropy, executive succession, and engagement of boards/governing bodies. |

| With over 25 years of accounting and finance experience, Stacie Gannon is a Certified Public Accountant and the Chief Financial Officer for Phoenix Closures. She has been with Phoenix since 2015 and has previously held the titles of VP of Finance, Controller and Assistant Controller. Stacie graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Accounting, passed the CPA exam on her first attempt, and began her career at KPMG. Stacie is a member of several professional organizations including FEI, Women in Manufacturing and MAPP.
Stacie resides in Naperville with her husband of 26 years, Pat. She has three children, two sons who live in Naperville and a daughter who lives in Charlotte, NC. Stacie has been an active volunteer since she was 16 and continued her volunteer work while her children were in school as a Girl Scout leader, a 4H leader, room parent and multiple PTA sponsored functions. |

| Chris is the President of Shepard Medical Products and, along with his family, is a long time resident of Roselle. Chris serves on the School Board of Roselle School District 12, is an active volunteer with PADS and visits inmates at Statesville Prison NRC.

| Max Leichtman, Chief of Staff to ComEd’s CEO, is responsible for managing strategic initiatives, projects and programs for the office of the CEO. He assists ComEd’s CEO with strategy, communications and corporate relations activities and assists in the coordination of ComEd’s senior staff. Prior to his current role, Max served as Manager of Regulatory Projects and Manager of Investment Strategy in addition to positions at the University of Chicago and on the staff of a United States Senator.
Max holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He is a member of the University of Chicago Alumni Board where he served as the board’s president and numerous other executive committee roles. In 2018 Max served as a Fellow at World Business Chicago. |

| Jason Nagel is a Senior Vice President and Team Lead of the business Banking Group at Naperville Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank. With three offices located throughout Naperville, his team of professionals serves the banking needs of small to mid-size businesses.
Jason currently serves on the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, has been a proud member of the Naperville Jaycees since 2003 where he has held multiple board positions including the Director of the Last Fling. Additionally, Jason is a member of the Rotary Club of Naperville, a Board Trustee at Marmion Academy in Aurora and is a past chair of the Little Friends’ Bids for Kids Benefit Auction. |

| Mary, a resident of Glen Ellyn, is an elected DuPage County Board member who represents District Four comprised of Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, and parts of Bloomingdale and Lombard. She is a member of the Finance, Development, Stormwater, Public Works, Technology and Community Services Committees. She is also the Chair of the Municipal/County Intergovernmental Committee.
Mary has served on the Glenbard Township School Board, worked as a substitute teacher in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn and previously worked as an Urban Planner and Project Manager with Metra and an Urban Planner with the Chicago Transit Authority. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and an Urban Planning certification from the University of Illinois. A committed community volunteer, Mary has served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Friends of the Glen Ellyn Public Library, the President of the Glenbard West High School Choral Parents Association, Village of Glen Ellyn Architectural Review Commission and the Village of Glen Ellyn Zoning Board of Appeals. |

| Emily Shupe is a member attorney at Rathje Woodward LLS. Emily has over 15 years of experience representing clients in commercial, employment and regulatory matters across the country. She has routinely been recognized as a rising star in commercial litigation in Illinois. Emily and her husband Mike live in Logan Square with their three young children. When not drafting briefs or chasing little ones, Emily can be found cooking, cycling or reading.

Since 1976, Family Shelter Service of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage (FSS of MFSD) has provided emergency and crisis services for DuPage County residents experiencing domestic violence. Each year, the organization touches the lives of more than 20,000 people, providing emergency shelter, counseling, case management, 24-hour hotline, community outreach, court & victim advocacy and prevention education. In 2019, it merged with Metropolitan Family Services DuPage, expanding its capacity to reach more domestic violence survivors in DuPage County and creating a seamless continuum of supportive services.
