  • We help figure out what you need. During the crisis, we work with the person to decide what kind of help is safest and most helpful.

We Are A Village, Whether We Know It Or Not.

At Metropolitan Family Services, we believe in building a community—becoming safe humans for one another. Together, we can equip ourselves to lift each other up and help one another do our best with evidence-based practices.

Let’s Equip Each Other to Be the Helpers:

1. Mental Health First Aid
Equip yourself with the skills to recognize and respond to developing mental
health challenges before they escalate. Learn to identify early warning signs
and intervene safely, ensuring both your safety and the well-being of those
in crisis.
2. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
Master de-escalation techniques to reduce the risk of violence in high-stress
situations. CPI training educates community members with proven
strategies like active listening, empathy, and effective communication to
resolve crises without force.
3. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)
Recognize the warning signs of suicide and take decisive action.
QPR teaches responders the critical steps—Question, Persuade,
Refer—to guide individuals in crisis toward immediate help.
4. Critical Time Intervention (CTI)
Support vulnerable individuals during life transitions. CTI strengthens connections to long-term support systems, reducing risks for veterans, those with mental illness, and individuals experiencing homelessness or reentry from incarceration.

Empower Awareness. Empower Intervention.

Let’s replace judgment with grace and replace silence with conversations. We build a village of hope and resilience when we embrace awareness and care for one another.
