Parenting Fundamentals in Puerto Rico

Did you know Parenting Fundamentals has a presence in Puerto Rico? Over the past seven years Program Director Katharine Bensinger and her team have completed five week-long teacher trainings for over 50 people, and the Parenting Fundamentals curriculum is taught in more than 35 municipalities inside social services organizations and schools.

Most recently, Katharine and Parenting Fundamentals Educator (and parent alum of the program) Robert Augustin, alongside their Parenting Fundamentals team in San Juan, spent four days training 13 staff from Instituto Tercera Mision Universidad Carlos Albizu. Those staff will now teach Parenting Fundamentals in four local schools.

This training is generously funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration as part of SAMHSA’s Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education).
