Our Midway Children’s Center’s goal: a new playground!

One of the biggest obstacles for our teachers at Midway Children’s Center is … furniture. Our outdoor playground is unusable, so in order to ensure our children have enough space for play, the teachers move our furniture aside to make enough space indoors.

Because play is a critical part of how children learn, we want to ensure a quality play space for the 72 children we serve through full-day, high quality early learning on Chicago’s Southwest Side. We’re launching a GoFundMe to help pay for a new playground – and we need your help to make it a reality!

This 1,885 square foot outdoor space will replace our current playground, which was built nearly 20 years ago and is now unsafe. We’re excited about the more durable and safe poured-in-place surface, as well as play equipment, attractive landscaping, and fencing to guarantee the safety of the children.

Two big ways you can contribute to our effort:

Donate! Any amount you’re able to contribute will empower the children we work (and play) with every day to thrive. Click here to help: https://bit.ly/MCCplayground

Share! This is our grassroots effort to get our community involved in supporting our kids. Whether or not you’re able to make a financial contribution, you can help us spread the word by sharing our GoFundMe link via email, text message, or social media!

Along with our GoFundMe supporters, we thank the City of Chicago and our local partners for helping contribute to our overall playground fundraising effort!
