“Ana” used to be embarrassed at sign-in time when she took her daughter, “Yara,” to preschool at one of Metropolitan DuPage’s Early Head Start programs. She had trouble with writing and English, and took a long time to write her name on the sign-in sheet.

Last week, our DuPage early childhood programs participated with several local and national programs, including our Early Childhood Education partners in the city, in celebration of the Week of the Young Child!

The statistic that adults with intellectual disabilities are sexually abused at a rate 7 times higher than the general adult population, as described in the first of a series on WBEZ/NPR is unacceptable to the Adult Protective Services Program at our Evanston/Skokie Valley Center.
As violence dominates conversations about Chicago, we are proud to partner with eight community organizations on an initiative focused on promoting peace. The collaboration, called Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P), engages nine of the city’s highest-risk neighborhoods.
