CHICAGO (November 6, 2019) – Over 500 supporters of Metropolitan Family Services raised

$1.27 million to benefit children and families across Chicago and Cook and DuPage Counties, as civic, business and philanthropic leaders gathered to celebrate 162 years of “Mpowering” families at the “Mpower the Night” gala. The event took place from 6 – 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, 221 N. Columbus Drive, Chicago, with ABC 7’s Alan Krashesky as emcee.

Highlights of this year’s event included the presentation of The Family of the Year Award to the Tony Hunter family for their outstanding philanthropic leadership in empowering Chicago-area families. Additional highlights included testimonial from the Young Fathers Program and the Altgeld Youth Leadership Program participants and leadership from the Metropolitan Peace Academy and Domestic Violence services.
