Meet a new cohort of Parenting Fundamentals graduates

The graduates of Metropolitan’s Parenting Fundamentals program devoted two hours each week for 10 weeks to learning positive parenting skills. They worked on connecting with their children, effective discipline, supporting school success, and their own self-care. They leaned on and supported each other throughout the process, and they were all smiles as they graduated ready to apply the skills they’ve learned to their families’ lives.

One parent from the Blue Island class shared how Parenting Fundamentals, and her instructor, Robert, affected her:

  • Robert was seriously one of the best teachers I have ever had. There was never a miscommunication. He was always clear about everything. Always prepared us each week so we knew what to expect. Robert always read and gave us examples each week for each chapter – which helped me because I am a visual learner.MOST IMPORTANTLY, Robert was relatable. He humbly shared his experiences with his children and his divorce, how things were and how they have been – that gave me hope and helped me so much. I not only really understand the class material now, but I will always remember all the content I learned in this class going forward in life. I am so grateful and blessed for all this class has done for me, and I owe that to Robert for being such a wonderful teacher.

Classes take place each week in different schools and community buildings; take a look below at our graduates from the most recent session.
