Leadership and Support
Metropolitan Family Services’ Legal Aid Society was one of the first organizations in the nation to provide legal services for the poor. From the beginning it has helped provide “justice for all,” regardless of ability to pay.
Some of Chicago’s most noted attorneys are active members of the Legal Aid Society Advisory board.
The Associate Board of the Legal Aid Society (“AB LAS”) is an association of young professionals assisting the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services in providing pro bono work, fundraising, and raising awareness of the Legal Aid Society’s charitable work in the greater Chicagoland area.

The Legal Aid Society protects families by providing safety and security for victims of domestic violence, protecting the elderly from abuse and exploitation and helping prevent homelessness and unlawful evictions. Being part of Metropolitan Family Services enables us to provide comprehensive services to compliment legal aid. Clients have access to community-based services such as counseling, financial support and child care programs.
