Jazz at the Met Raises More Than $35,000
Thanks to all who made Jazz at the Met 2013 a big success! The event raised more than $35,000, which will benefit programs and services provided by Metropolitan Family Services Calumet Center.
At this year’s Jazz at the Met, guests enjoyed live music by Liane Williams and The Beverly All-Stars, Margaret Murphy, and Jamiah “On Fire” & The Red Machine. Additional event features included spoken-word-artist Alexandria Redfield, a fashion show by Fort Smith Fashions, silent and live auctions, raffle and a mouth-watering buffet. Special thanks to our mistress and master of ceremonies – Precious Witherspoon and Cliff Kelley from WVON and to our excellent auctioneers – Julius Rhodes, Derrick Taylor, LaToyia Huggins and Ald. Willie B. Cochran.
Event proceeds will benefit a wide range of vital programs and services that reach more than 8,000 individuals – ranging from babies to seniors – and families throughout Chicago’s Roseland community, on the city’s far South Side.
