Metropolitan Family Services is pleased to share current information on the social-economic status of individuals living in Illinois' legislative districts. Information in these fact sheets was compiled specifically for each legislative district in Illinois directly from information from state agencies and the 2000 U.S. Census.

Feel free to download and copy this information, as long as appropriate credit is given to Metropolitan Family Services.

Fact Sheet Source Information

The information listed on fact sheets was gathered using the following sources:

  • Illinois Department of Education. Data for 2002-2003 school year for all schools that accept government funding for school lunches. Students' families whose income is at or less than 130% of the federal poverty level are eligible for a free lunch: $23,920 for a family of four in 2003. Students' families whose income is at or less than 185% are eligible for reduced lunch: $34,040 for a family of four in 2003.

At the minimum wage of $5.15/hr, Illinois residents can only afford to pay $268/month in rent.
