A Special Tribute to Mike Brady, Metropolitan Family Services Leader, Advocate and Colleague We would like to share a few words to honor Mike Brady, formerly Co-Executive Director of Metropolitan’s Southeast Chicago Center and Executive Director of the Southwest Center. Mike spent four decades working in social and mental health services, joining Metropolitan in April 2000. On November 27, 2011Mike passed away. He was a wealth of talent, ability and compassion, and he was passionate about his staff and those he served. Mike directed Metropolitan’s mental health services and was a board member of the Community Behavioral Health Association of Illinois (CBHA).
Mike is greatly missed by his family, colleagues and Metropolitan staff. We celebrate his lifelong commitment to serving others.
21st Century Community Learning Center Grant Awarded to Nathan Hale Middle School We’re excited to announce that Metropolitan, in partnership with Nathan Hale Middle School, have won a $150,000 multi-year grant by the Illinois State Board of Education to create a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) at the Crestwood middle school, located in Crestwood, Ill.! The three-year grant will provide $150,000 per year for increased out-of-school opportunities for students including recreational activities, academic support, life skills and increased parental support for the school’s families.
