Mural Illustrates Road to Recovery
Surrounded by friends from Southwest Chicago CILA, family, Metropolitan staff and community residents, Metropolitan’s Southeast Chicago CILA residents celebrated their roads to recovery with a mural unveiling! An afternoon reception held on March 25th allowed the residents to share and discuss the mural that they created and how it depicts their individual stories of recovery. Also on display were a hand-made recovery quilt noting the things that have helped them along their paths and other various other artwork developed by the residents. CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) is designed to help clients with mental illness reach independence through case management and life skills training.
