About the Center

Since opening our Southeast Chicago office on the heels of the steel mill closings, we are now enthusiastic participants, with our collaborators, in the economic and social renaissance developing within the community. Our staff is proud to have worked in South Chicago since 1985 and families throughout the community see our new Southeast Center as a beacon of hope for the future.

Laurie Sedio, MA, Social Services Administration

Laurie Sedio began serving families in Southeast Chicago in 1985 from a desk and folding chair in the basement of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and for years has built community support and shepherded the growth of this center as its Executive Director. In 2007, when she took on a new role as Executive Director of our Midway Center, she began sharing leadership of this center with Mike Brady.
