Colleen Jones is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Metropolitan Family Services, one of the leading human services agencies in the Chicago area.
At Metropolitan, Jones provides leadership to public funding efforts and guides program development, quality, standards and implementation of agency prevention and clinical services.

These community-based services support and strengthen families across life stages and include child and youth development, counseling, parent development, counseling, older adults and their families, economic stability, violence prevention and intervention, and Employee Assistance Network. 

Jones has served as Metropolitan’s Chief Operating Officer since 2004. Prior to that she was named Vice President, Public Funding and Program Development in 2003 and Senior Vice President of Prevention and Education in 1999. Previously, Jones held various senior-level positions with Metropolitan including Vice President of Family Development Services and Vice President of City Services. She also served as Manager of Metropolitan’s Senior Services, a position she assumed in 1991 after 13 years of holding various clinical and managerial positions with the agency. Jones joined Metropolitan in 1974 as a social worker.

Jones is a founding Board Member of the Healthcare Consortium of Illinois, a past founding Board Member of the Federation for Community Schools, and a past and founding Board Member and past Board Chair Member of the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention. She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 1972 and is a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers (NABSW), Chicago Chapter. The latter honored her in 2009 with the "Distinguished Social Worker Award."

Jones also is certified by the Academy of Certified Social Workers and is a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois. In 2006, she was named “Social Worker of the Year” for the state of Illinois by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the National Association of Social Workers, Chicago Chapter. In 2008, Jones received the Alumna of Color award from the African American and Latino Student Organizations of the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.

Jones is a graduate of Simmons College, Boston, earned an M.A. from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration,  and holds a certificate in business administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a certificate of non-profit management from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She has also participated in leadership and management certificate programs at the Harvard Business School and Bank of America.
